Many CHP Resident Services programs depend on volunteers to enhance the scope, quality, and long-term success of our services and to act as important connectors between residents and the greater community. The addition of volunteers to our service projects also provides enrichment, safety, and capacity to our organization. In 2015 alone, over 2,500 CHP volunteers gave thousands of hours of service to activities such as Earth Day landscaping projects and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service.
CHP recruits volunteers by identifying potential volunteer partner organizations, including local university service organizations, senior organizations, faith-based groups, and other community volunteer sources. Volunteers are supported through on-site training and orientation relevant to the activity they assist. CHP values and acknowledges our volunteers through recognition events and through our monthly publications.
