The holidays are a time to create joy in the lives of others. But with an abundance of opportunities to support children with toys and goodies for under the tree, our seniors are often left out.
Many seniors living in CHP’s communities struggle daily to meet their basic needs, so this giving season we want to make sure their wishes are granted. Through the CHP Warm Wishes program, you can help!
We are providing Warm Wishes gift bags, valued at around $30, to senior residents ages 55 and up at more than 20 CHP rental communities in Virginia. CHP will be registering seniors for this program in October, accepting gifts and monetary donations through Dec. 1, and delivering Warm Wishes to residents the second week in December. Help us make 2023 a special holiday season for our senior residents by supporting this program today.
How Can I Help?
Donate
Donate $30 per senior by Dec. 1 and CHP staff will purchase their requested gifts. Please select “Warm Wishes” from the drop-down list of activities.
Sign up to become a Warm Wishes giver to adopt and shop for one or more of our seniors. You buy the gifts from a wish list, and we will deliver them. We are no longer accepting sign-ups to “adopt and shop” this year, but there’s still time to donate.
Give on Someone’s Behalf
Want to give a Warm Wish on someone else’s behalf? We can mail a certificate showing that you gave in their name. This can also be to honor or remember a loved one. Contact us for details.
CHP has 725 seniors who are eligible for this program, but not all of them choose to participate. We believe our program is unique because, while many other organizations raise money for children’s gifts during the holidays, few of them go towards the senior population.
CHP not only offers desirable, economical homes to own or rent, but also encourages personal and community success through supportive services and programming. CHP Housing Services includes Asset Management, Homeownership, Property Management, and Resident Services.
