Isabel Thornton is the Executive Director of Restoration Housing, which she founded in 2014 out of a passion for historic preservation and affordable housing. She holds a B.A. in architectural history from the University of Virginia and master’s degrees in historic preservation and urban planning from the University of Southern California.

In addition to her role at Restoration Housing, Isabel serves on the Blue Ridge Interagency Council on Homelessness and the board of Carilion Medical Center. She previously contributed to Community Housing Partners as a member of the Real Estate Development Committee before joining CHP’s Board of Directors in 2025. Isabel lives on a farm in Botetourt County with her husband and four children.
