Property management staff is actively involved in this family-oriented neighborhood. CHP’s Jeanetta Gatling serves as the property manager, and Doris Hensley serves as the Maintenance Technician.

Introduce yourself and share a bit about your background in property management.

I have been in property management for about 15 years. I was just promoted to Regional Manager, but I am still working at Canterbury Crossing as CHP finds my replacement. I stumbled upon property management. I was in retail, managing a couple of stores, but when I was looking for something else, I stumbled upon property management.

How long have you been managing this property?

I have been at CHP for almost 15 years! I worked at Lynnhaven for about two months before I started working at Canterbury Crossing.

What makes this property unique or distinctive within the community?

It is in the historic area, and it’s very sought after. A lot of people are looking to live here because the property is low-income and the units are humongous. They’re really nice. Not only that, but if you don’t know that the neighborhood is there, you’re not going to drive through it, so it’s a really family-oriented community.

If the property had a personality, how would you describe it in three words?

Captivating, Quiet, and Peaceful

What’s the most unique feature of this property that residents love?

There is a washer and dryer in the unit. It’s not just the apartment-size washer and dryer; it’s full-size, so you feel at home and have space.

Can you share any success stories or positive feedback from residents?

We had a resident who lived here for 15 years and saved up enough money to buy a home. She was a first-time homebuyer, and we were able to help her achieve that by giving her a great place to live while she got into a position to buy a home.

What is something you like or appreciate about the community?

The units are very large, very nice sized townhomes. It makes you feel like you’re really in a home, you know?

What qualities make this property a great place to call home?

The landscaping. When you drive up, you feel like it’s warm and inviting. And if you’re outside, you don’t feel like you have to rush and get back in the house. It’s quiet and there’s not a whole lot going on.
