CHP Training Courses Teach Students the Principles of Energy Efficiency
One of the first IREC ACCREDITED training providers in the nation, CHP Energy Solutions Research and Training Center offers expert training to building and energy efficiency professionals in the creation of healthier, safer, more energy-efficient living and working environments. Our 12,600-square-foot facility is one of only twelve legacy national weatherization training centers.
Our experienced team of BPI, RESNET, and EARTHCRAFT-certified trainers provide distance e-learning courses and on-site classes at CHP’s state-of-the-art training center, in addition to hands-on field mentoring. CHP's training focuses on home performance using a whole-house approach, with the goal of creating single and multifamily homes that are good for people, good for the environment, and good for business. Technicians are taught practices and techniques that test and reduce energy consumption, address health and safety concerns, and determine how the building shell, appliances, and occupants interact with one another. Detailed curricula and innovative models support these training efforts.
The Energy Solutions team also offers inspections and verification services for state weatherization programs and third-party green building credentialing.
Since its establishment in 1999, the Training Center has trained more than 30,000 students across the U.S., Canada, and Argentina.
We have presented our research at national conferences, including those hosted by:
The White House
DOE National Weatherization Assistance Program
ACI National Home Performance
National Community Action Foundation
National Association for State Community Service Programs
