Lynnhaven Landing Renovations

Community Housing Partners (CHP) is leading renovations at Lynnhaven Landing Apartments in Virginia Beach starting in the fall of 2024. The renovations will significantly improve the property and include upgrades to all 256 apartments, common areas, and community amenities.

Renovation Details

Over the next four years, CHP will make renovations to Lynnhaven Landing Apartments in phases, including:

  • Upgrades to every apartment, including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and appliances
  • Upgrades to common areas and community amenities
  • New hot water heaters

CHP is working to create a construction schedule with a building-by-building timeline for the renovations and will add it to this page when available. Please check back here for regular updates

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is CHP renovating Lynnhaven Landing Apartments?
Our primary goal is to improve the overall living experience by upgrading the units, common areas, and amenities. This includes updating roofs, heating and cooling systems, and hot water heaters to ensure a more efficient and comfortable environment.

How long will the renovations take?
To minimize disruptions to our residents, we are spacing out the renovations over the next four years, starting in the fall of 2024. We anticipate that all buildings will be renovated by the fall of 2028.

Will I have to move out of my apartment during the renovation?
Yes, residents will need to relocate within the community to allow for the renovation work. If suitable units are not available, you may need to relocate to a different property. Property Management staff will assist in ensuring a smooth transition.

What will happen to my lease during the renovation?
As current leases expire, many will transition to month-to-month agreements to provide flexibility for scheduling renovations. You will have the right to terminate your lease with 30 days’ notice. In some cases, leases may not be renewed to create vacancies for the renovation work, with at least 60 days’ notice given.

How will this affect my rent?
After renovations, we anticipate a significant rent increase to reflect the upgraded apartments and amenities. We will work with you individually to determine eligibility for the new rent structure based on your income and current lease agreement.

What if I cannot afford the new rent after the renovations?
We understand that the increased rent may not be feasible for all residents. We will work with those who are not eligible for the new rent structure to find alternative housing options, including flexible lease terminations and security deposit policies.

How will CHP support residents during this transition?
Our Property Management team will be available to answer questions and address concerns throughout the process. We will also assist residents who need to find alternative housing. As we identify additional resources, we will share them on this webpage. How will I be kept informed about the renovation project?
We will provide detailed information about the renovation schedule and potential disruptions well in advance. Updates will be available on this webpage, and you will receive notifications about any changes impacting your unit.
