How long have you been managing this property?
I have been managing Cornerstone Apartments for 8 years.
What makes this property unique or distinctive within the community?
Cornerstone is a unique property that consists of two homes and has a total of 11 units that we rent to unhoused individuals and families. We partner with Miriam’s House, an organization that supports individuals who are homeless.
If the property had a personality, how would you describe it in a few words?
These homes are beautiful, old, and cozy.
What’s the most unique feature of this property that residents love?
Residents love the architecture of these houses. The house located at 908 Floyd St. was built in 1892 and the house located at 915 Floyd St. was built in 1937.
Can you share any success stories or positive feedback from residents?
Residents that live in these homes are thankful for the opportunity to be in a safe environment and no longer live on the streets or in shelters.
Can you share a life hack or clever solution you’ve discovered for common resident needs?
Actively listening to my residents’ concerns and providing feedback ensures mutual understanding. This will allow my residents to feel comfortable and effectively communicate any concerns or problems they may have.
What is something you like or appreciate about the community?
The community has experienced homelessness. I like being able to offer them a safe and affordable apartment. Many of these people are homeless due to job loss, domestic violence, mental health issues, and poverty. I appreciate the opportunity to help them rebuild their lives.
What qualities make this property a great place to call home?
These homes are safe and provide shelter and comfort for our residents. Residents feel peacefulness, calmness, and serenity.
