My name is Desirae, and I am the Property Manager at Bluegrass Apartments in Pulaski, Virginia, and Grayson Manor in Independence, Virginia. I have been in property management for a little over three years.
How long have you been managing this property, and what do you enjoy most about managing it?
I’ve been the Property Manager for Bluegrass Apartments since February 2024. One thing I enjoy most about Bluegrass is the variety of personalities and characteristics among the residents.
What makes this property distinctive within the community?
This property is part of the Historic District within the town of Pulaski.
If the property had a personality, how would you describe it in a few words?
Entertaining, accommodating, family-oriented.
What feature or aspect of the property do residents appreciate most?
The location is ideal for residents, as most everything is within walking distance. Transit pickup for Pulaski/Montgomery County is also available, with a pickup and drop-off location right outside the apartment complex entrance.
Can you share a moment or piece of feedback that reflects a positive resident experience?
Our residents are very caring toward one another here at Bluegrass. Some residents receive donations from local charities, and when they have extra items or things they cannot use, they bring them to the community table so those in need can benefit from them.
What’s a tip or creative solution you’ve found helpful for supporting residents?
Honesty, respect, and communication have worked tremendously.
What do you appreciate most about the surrounding community or neighborhood?
The residents here have become a close, tight-knit family. They are always welcoming to visitors, contractors, new residents, and CHP staff members.
