We are now accepting applications for three-bedroom apartments through a leasing lottery.
CHP is reopening the leasing lottery for available three-bedroom apartments at Legacy on Main in Blacksburg, Virginia. We will start accepting applications on Friday, Sept. 4 at 9 a.m. and close the application period on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 11:59 p.m. This is the second application period after the initial lottery in June. The community is anticipated to be ready for occupancy this fall.
The rent for three-bedroom apartments at Legacy on Main ranges from $1,516 to $1,800 per month. To qualify, your household income must fall within an income range set by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Full-time students, on their own, typically do not qualify, and must meet one of five exceptions, to live at Legacy on Main based on Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) compliance regulations.

Located at the corner of Country Club Drive and South Main Street, CHP’s Legacy on Main offers much-needed affordable rental options near jobs, public transportation, and a grocery store in Blacksburg, Virginia. The 56 apartments at Legacy and Main will be an ideal home for public school teachers, police officers, daycare workers, and many Virginia Tech employees who qualify.
To qualify for an apartment at Legacy on Main, your household income must fall within the income range shown below. Income limits vary based on household size and apartment type.

At Legacy on Main, monthly rents are up to approximately $1,375 for two-bedroom apartments and up to $1,800 for three-bedroom apartments. Actual rent amounts depend on household income, apartment type, and availability. Applicants must provide identification, proof of income, information about other assets, other required documentation, and payment of any applicable fees.
Please note: Legacy on Main is an active construction site and is not currently open for tours or walk-in visits. We kindly ask prospective residents not to visit the property at this time so construction teams can safely complete their work.
