Eric Penrod, Director of the CHP Energy Solutions Training Center, is a training and workforce development leader with more than 20 years of experience designing and delivering impactful learning programs that help organizations build safer, stronger, and more capable teams. As an OSHA Authorized Instructor, he has led workforce training initiatives across manufacturing, construction, government, education, and military sectors, developing programs that blend regulatory compliance with practical, hands-on application.

His expertise spans instructional design, curriculum development, learning management systems, workforce development, and organizational training strategy. Throughout his career, Eric has partnered with executive leadership, managers, and frontline teams to assess training needs, improve performance, and align learning initiatives with organizational objectives. He is recognized for translating complex technical concepts into engaging, accessible training that employees can immediately apply in the workplace. He accepted his current position at CHP in 2026.

A lifelong Appalachian with more than four decades of roots in the region, Eric brings a strong work ethic, practical perspective, and deep appreciation for building meaningful relationships. He believes effective training extends beyond compliance—it empowers individuals with the confidence, knowledge, and skills needed to grow professionally and contribute to organizational success.
