Community Housing Partners (CHP), which provides affordable and sustainable housing throughout the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic, is proud to be featured in a new report from the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE), “Estimating the Impacts of Weatherization Readiness Programs.” The June 2025 report explores how weatherization readiness programs—efforts to repair and prepare homes for energy efficiency upgrades—can help more households access vital energy-saving services.

CHP’s Energy Solutions team is recognized in the report as a national example of how organizations can combine funding from the federal Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) with utility programs to serve more households in need. By combining these resources, CHP helps provide more comprehensive services, especially for customers who may not qualify for WAP but are eligible for utility-supported energy efficiency programs.

ACEEE points to CHP Energy Solutions alongside Washington State’s Weatherization Plus Health program as models for leveraging multiple funding sources to maximize the impact of weatherization efforts. The report notes how CHP’s integrated approach helps address both energy efficiency and health and safety needs in the homes of low-income families.
