Glass spent four months creating the paintings for CHP’s J. Van Story Branch Apartments. The custom-made art depicts scenes from the surrounding neighborhood and was installed on all 20 floors of the high-rise building in December and January.

“I had become acquainted with Hamilton Glass and his work, and I have been really inspired by the work that he does,” said Samantha Brown, Vice President for Real Estate Development, in a recent video.

Glass had a career in architecture before pursuing his passion for public art. “In creating this project, I had a chance to go to visit the building, but also to walk around the neighborhood and feel the vibe of the neighborhood,” he said.

CHP will celebrate the renovations at J. Van Story Branch Apartments, which were completed in December, with a Virtual Ribbon Cutting on Thursday, Jan. 28 at noon. The ribbon cutting will be available on CHP’s Facebook page and YouTube channel during and after the premiere.
