Please introduce yourself and share a bit about your background in property management.
Hi, my name is Lakesha Pittman, and I currently serve as the Property Manager at Somerset Court Apartments in Wilson, North Carolina. Interestingly, property management found me. Fourteen years ago, I was a resident at a cute community called Edgewood Place Apartments, and the manager suggested that I apply for the position of Site Manager after his scheduled departure. With excitement, I took his advice and was hired shortly thereafter to oversee the community. During my tenure with that company, I was selected to manage a second rural development site and was recognized for successfully attaining budgetary goals between the two. I was also given the key award for outstanding regional service, professionalism, and dedication to the partnership. The skills I acquired there prepared me for the transition to Community Housing Partners in 2013, where I now get to provide homes that are healthy, sustainable, and affordable.
