CHP, a member of the NeighborWorks network, is receiving a $579,167 grant from the Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation, dba NeighborWorks America. This FY 2017 grant funding will provide a much-needed boost that will support CHP’s affordable housing and community development activities.
“CHP is pleased to again be awarded funds from NeighborWorks America to support important affordable housing programs,” said Jeffrey Reed, president of CHP. “Through NeighborWorks funding, CHP can address key mission-related activities while remaining flexible enough to meet our communities’ evolving needs.”
NeighborWorks America is announcing more than $68 million in grants to its network of more than 240 nonprofit organizations located around the country. NeighborWorks organizations will use the grants to develop and manage high-quality affordable housing; make loans to homeowners and small businesses; offer financial coaching, homeownership education and counseling; and revitalize and strengthen communities.
“We’re committed to being good stewards of taxpayer dollars, and NeighborWorks ensures our investments are working in ways that transform lives,” said Paul Weech, NeighborWorks America president and chief executive officer.
In fiscal year 2016, the NeighborWorks network assisted 360,000 individuals and families with affordable housing, owned and managed 154,100 rental homes, counseled and educated 115,000 customers, and created more than 53,600 jobs.
