Jamey Christian, a first-time homeowner from Christiansburg, VA, purchased her home utilizing CHP Homeownership’s services. Before purchasing her home, Jamey had been renting but she saw the importance and value in owning her own home.
Jamey explains why purchasing a home was important to her. “You spend so much when you rent, and it’s a different type of freedom when you purchase and own your home,” she said. “It’s yours and you are not giving your money to someone else.”
Hearing about CHP Homeownership and our programs to help folks become successful homeowners at an outreach event, Jamey immediately created a profile and started her path towards homeownership.
“I utilized you all for everything,” she explained, “I didn’t do too much on my own. I followed the steps that you all advised me on – a savings plan and a budget plan – and within a year I purchased my very one home!”
