Community Housing Partners (CHP), which provides affordable and sustainable housing throughout the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic, has named H. Bernard Rogers as its new Assistant Vice President of Development.

Rogers comes to CHP with over 20 years of development experience specializing in deal origination and Real Estate Development strategy. As the new AVP of Development, Rogers will leverage these skills to aid CHP in its mission to create homes and communities that are healthy, sustainable, and affordable with a special focus in and around the Richmond area. He will find deals that fit with CHP’s capacity and mission and once a deal goes through, he will manage that project. Rogers will work with and oversee development staff from acquisition all the way until it is turned over to Property Management.

“We are excited to have Bernard as a part of the team,” said David Schultz, Senior Vice President of Development. “With his impressive experience in the housing industry, especially in and around Richmond, he is a great fit for our team and an asset to CHP.”

Before joining CHP, Rogers worked for Better Housing Coalition for 13 years. He started with the company as a Senior Project Manager and was promoted internally to Vice President of Real Estate Development.

Rogers received his master’s degree in urban and regional planning from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond and his bachelor’s degree from James Madison University in Harrisonburg.
