Blacksburg Development on Harding Ave to Provide Affordable & Environmentally Friendly Housing Opportunities
At a public information meeting hosted last night at Harding Elementary School by the Town of Blacksburg and Christiansburg-based Community Housing Partners (CHP), conceptual plans were unveiled for an affordable mixed-residential community on Harding Avenue that would also feature environmentally responsible design and construction elements.
Over 60 town and county residents and officials attended the meeting to learn more about the development and share their questions and concerns. Additional community sessions are scheduled for this summer, with a design charrette to be held June 19th (time and location to be announced). Feedback provided at these meetings is encouraged and will be incorporated into the design process of the project.
