Energy Solutions Wraps Up 2018 Builders' Boot Camp
The Energy Solutions Research and Training Center welcomed 50 participants from five states for the fifth annual CHP Builders’ Boot Camp. The annual event is an intensive, interactive, and collaborative learning workshop experience for construction industry professionals.
This year, the Builders’ Boot Camp took place at the CHP Research and Training Center in Christiansburg, Virginia on August 28-29.
“Boot Camp is an exciting time for us at the Training Center,” said Phil Hull, Training Center Director. “We get to bring in other nationally recognized trainers, and it is great to see professionals from a variety of states coming together and learning. They are all trying to make safer, healthier, and more efficient homes for those who are most vulnerable.”
Held each fall, the Builders’ Boot Camp equips participants with the most current construction industry information and skills needed to maintain an edge in the business and provide the highest quality services for their clients. It is also an opportunity for participants to network with other like-minded professionals regionally and nationally.
The 2018 presenters came from all over, including Maine, Minnesota, Georgia, and Pennsylvania. For the second year in a row, the Builders’ Boot Camp raised items for a cause. Last year, Boot Camp participants provided over 500 cases of water for the victims of a hurricane that flooded much of southern Texas. This year, they donated 84 backpacks to a local nonprofit that filled them with items for foster children in Giles County.
