Diversity and Diamonds
CHP is honored to be recognized for the second year in a row with a Diamond Diversity Award from the New River Valley Society for Human Resources Management (NRV SHRM) for exemplifying inclusive excellence in employee recruitment and retention strategies, programs and offerings, and contributions to making the New River Valley an attractive and inviting place to live and work.
Clay McCoy, CHP’s Director of Human Resources remarked, “CHP has won this award two years in a row for our commitment and practices to promote and cultivate an environment of diversity and inclusion throughout our workforce.”
According to Clay, many employers advocate and tout diversity, but CHP’s Human Resources department has actively reached out to community and civic groups such as the New River Valley/Floyd Chapter of the NAACP, the Richmond City Mayor’s Office of Multicultural Affairs, WorkForce Plus/Welfare Transition Program, Virginia Commonwealth University’s Rehabilitation Research and Training Center, Hero2Hired, and many more in order to form strong relationships.
“Nancy, Brenda and I are very pleased to be recognized for these efforts, and continue to seek new partnership opportunities to reflect the diversity of the communities we serve,” said Clay.
