CHP Energy Solutions offers EPA Certified Lead RRP Course
CHP Energy Solutions has just been certified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to conduct training for its Lead-Based Paint Renovation, Repair, and Painting (RRP) Program and the Lead Renovator Refresher course.
According to CHP Energy Solutions Vice President Mark Jackson, this training offering is particularly beneficial to area renovation, repair, and painting firms (including sole proprietorships) working in housing or facilities where children are routinely present because they are all required by federal law to be certified and trained in the use of lead-safe work practices. Renovators must also take a refresher course in order to recertify when their original five-year certification expires. For many who earned their certification in 2010 when the law took effect, the recertification deadline is approaching soon.
“CHP’s newest course offerings are a great opportunity for new and experienced building professionals to acquire the appropriate skills, knowledge, certification needed to begin successful careers or remain in compliance with industry requirements,” Jackson said.
CHP’s Energy Solutions Research and Training Center provides expert training for building professionals to facilitate the creation of healthier, safer, more energy-efficient living and working environments. Its 12,600-square-foot facility in Christiansburg, Virginia, serves the training needs of the weatherization and energy efficiency industry workforce and is one of only twelve original national weatherization training centers.
