CHP Selected to be Recipient of Panera Bread's Local Community Breadbox Donation
Christiansburg, VA – Community Housing Partners (CHP) is excited to announce that Panera Bread will be sharing a generous amount of dough with the Christiansburg-based nonprofit as one of Panera’s newest Operation Dough-Nation Community Breadbox partners.
The Christiansburg and Blacksburg bakery-cafes will match a portion of all in-store customer donations and present the total combined funds to CHP, a Community Development Corporation that provides affordable, sustainable housing opportunities and services to low-income and low-wealth households in the Southeast.
For over 16 years, Panera and its franchisees have helped hundreds of charitable organizations through Operation Dough-Nation, a broader company outreach program which promotes community involvement and charitable giving by local Panera bakery-cafes.
Panera’s Community Breadbox program focuses on bringing Panera and its customers together to make a difference in the community. Donation containers are placed near the registers in all Panera bakery-cafes for customers to contribute. The company then matches a portion of the donations and distributes the money to local charities of their choosing, like CHP.
“CHP is honored to be one of Panera’s Operation Dough-Nation Community Breadbox partners. With funds received from this program, CHP can continue to create communities that promote vitality in neighborhoods, foster wealth-building for individuals, and contribute to a better environment for future generations,” said CHP’s Public Relations Coordinator, Melissa Byrd.
