CHP VP Elected President of National Affordable Housing Management Association
Richmond, VA – Community Housing Partners (CHP) is pleased to announce that CHP’s Vice President of Property Management, Scott Reithel, CPM NAHP-e, CGPM, was recently elected president of the National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA) at their fall meeting. His two-year term began November 1.
NAHMA is the leading voice for affordable housing, advocating on behalf of multifamily property managers and owners whose mission is to provide quality affordable housing. Founded in 1990, and based in Alexandria, Virginia, NAHMA's membership today includes the industry's most distinguished multifamily managers, owners, and industry stakeholders. NAHMA serves as a vital resource for technical education and information, fosters strategic relations between government and industry, and recognizes those who exemplify the best in affordable housing.
Reithel began his multi-family property management career more than thirty years ago and was a property management executive for several national and regional property management companies before joining CHP. He also served as a property management instructor with the Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Reithel is a three-time past president and former board member of the Midwest Affordable Housing Management Association, is the current vice president of the NAHMA Educational Foundation, and is a certified member of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM).
His many years of work in the industry have earned Reithel recognition and accolades from peers, colleagues, and co-workers, including awards from the Eli Lily drug company, the National Mental Health Association, and the Milwaukee Ovation Award for his work in developing housing and programs for persons with mental illness. In addition, Reithel has been recognized by HUD for his work in the area of fair housing.
