Originally constructed in 1987, Spicers Mill apartment community comprises 40 rental units in Orange, Virginia, rented to individuals or families earning at or below 50% of the area median income.
These apartments underwent extensive environmentally-responsible renovations including energy-efficient mechanical systems, appliances, and lighting; ENERGY STAR windows; low-VOC finishes; durable siding; and native landscaping. CHP also installed new cabinets and flooring; painted interiors and exteriors; replaced most exterior doors and some roofing; waterproofed basement areas; improved site drainage; and built a community room that the residents may use for social gatherings, games, classes, projects, and other group activities.
