dedicated spirit
Kamilia Lawson’s gentle smile and easy-going demeanor belie her strong sense of business and
commitment to community development. As CHP’s sole real estate broker, Kamilia has worked diligently to restart the CHP Realty division.
She has also managed to attend and study for broker classes, ultimately passing the certification exams
and interviews with the Board of Realtors in Virginia, North Carolina, and Kentucky!
Kamilia actually began her career with CHP in 2006 as a HUD fellow while pursuing her Master’s
degree in Public Administration at Virginia Tech.Kamilia then worked part-time to help market and sell the Roanoke
and Lee duplexes, and was finally officially hired as our Special Projects Coordinator after her
graduation in May, 2007.
A quick and enthusiastic learner, Kamilia hit the ground running in her new position, exploring
possible development opportunities and assisting with the sale and marketing of other CHP
properties.
Because of Kamilia’s entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to expand her professional boundaries,
Kamilia has been able to help CHP continue to grow and expand, furthering its mission to create
affordable, sustainable housing opportunities.

make a difference... join the chp team
Community Housing Partners (CHP) considers its employees one of its most valuable resources. In order to support that resource, CHP provides its employees with comprehensive benefit plans, including insurance, a flexible spending account, personal development opportunities, and retirement savings.
chp key benefits
insurance benefits
CHP offers a variety of individual or family health and dental insurance coverage on a shared cost basis to its employees. CHP also offers long-term disability insurance and life insurance at no cost to the employee.
flexible spending plan
CHP has established a Flexible Spending Plan that allows employees to set aside money on a before-tax basis to cover eligible health expenditures and dependent care expenses. Pre-tax medical and dependent care deductions can increase an employee's spendable cash through reductions in payroll taxes.
retirement package
In order to help our employees plan for the future, CHP offers a 403(b) Savings Plan to employees for retirement savings. The plan offers employees long-term financial security with substantial economic and tax benefits by setting aside part of their total salary on a before-tax basis for retirement. Eligible employees will also receive a company match to add to these savings.
professional development
CHP encourages employees to participate in continuing education opportunities to increase their knowledge, skillls and abilities. Each department strives to deliver training and educational opportunities to support the professional growth of each employee.
