juanita hicks' story
Many senior citizens like Juanita Hicks and young adults require low maintenance and affordable rental housing, since homeownership is capital intensive. Juanita attended an open house in Lynchburg, Virginia one Saturday as she was looking for a place to live. Immediately she knew that CHPC's multi-family property College Hill Homes was for her. The property is home to senior citizens and single parents with children. Juanita enjoyed the energy efficient amenities and the convenience of having a property manager around the clock.

Nona Hipp joined CHP in 2001 and currently serves as the Vice President of Housing Management. She is responsible for the management of the corporation’s multi-family properties including relocation and fee management activities. She originally joined CHP as a regional housing manager for the Tidewater, Virginia area, and also served as the Assistant Vice President of Housing Management prior to her current position. Debbie Markwood joined CHP in 2004 and currently serves as CHP's Resident Services Manager. She oversees resident services at approximately 20 apartment communities in the southeast. Debbie's previous experience includes serving as CHP's property accounting manager and the Roanoke Rescue Mission's director of programming for women and children's ministries.
