It's not easy buying a first home. For many the process is a mystery and the details of homeownership are unknowns. At CHP, it is our goal to educate clients and help them become more knowledgeable and feel more at ease during the home buying process. All classes and materials are offered at no cost to the clients. In order to help people with low to moderate income move into homeownership, we offer extensive education programs:

As part of our homeownership program, we provide free homebuyer education classes for first time homebuyers. The classes help clients take the mystery out of the buying their first home. Through the classes, clients will lean different aspects of the home buying process including:

Personal Finance
Budgeting
Credit Counseling
Qualifying for a Loan
Negotiating a Purchase
Applying for a Mortgage
Home Maintenance
Foreclosure Prevention


We offer classes in both English and Spanish.

Becoming financially fit will not only help you achieve self-sufficiency, it will reduce your personal stress and improve your quality of life! Our Financial Fitness classes provide clients with the resources and tools to achieve their financial goals. These free classes are held monthly and cover the following topics:

Basics of Budgeting and Power Pay
Basics of Banking
Basics of Borrowing
Basics of Personal Finances
